Tagstand NFC Tags Review

For those of you who don’t know what NFC is, it stands for “Near-Field Communication”. It is integrated into many devices such as smartphones and tablets. NFC allows users to interact with actually items to perform various tasks on their phones. Tagstand is a company that produces “tags” which are stickers that work with NFC. These tags can open websites, show virtual business cards, do check-ins for Google+, Facebook, or Foursquare, or make your phone do other various things. In this review, the Tagstand tags were used with the Galaxy Nexus and Tagstand’s app called the “NFC Task Launcher.”

The tags themselves are as thin as a normal sticker you’d use. If you look closely, though, you can see that they aren’t your normal sticker but instead, it looks more like a computer chip. They are flexible (though I wouldn’t recommend flexing it too much as it could disable or break them) and can have designs printed onto them. While using them, I have found them to have some very nice and useful features for a normal user when paired with their app.

My favorite way to use them as an everyday use, is used by putting one in the car, and one near the house door. The way I use the one in the car is to set WiFi off, turn Bluetooth on, turn the GPS on, turn the volume up, and put the phone in the car dashboard mode. All of this is able to be done with just one sticker and one touch of the phone to the sticker. The one on the door reverses everything so it’s back to a normal phone in the house.

There are other ways to use this for businesses such as using it for a Facebook or Foursquare check-in. These tags from Tagstand are great and not at all expensive or hard to use. To use it with the “NFC Task Launcher” app in the Google Play Store, all a user needs to do is tap “new tag”, enter all of the actions they want done, click finish, and tap the empty tag to the back of the phone. As you can see, they are very simple to use.

In conclusion, these stickers/tags will be the most useful stickers you’ve ever seen. A normal person can use them easily and in helpful ways as well as businesses for various tasks. The app is very simple and takes no extra knowledge to use them and it’s free.
