Since its release in August of 2008, the Cooler Master HAF 932 has undergone many changes.  Although the extreme high-airflow design of the case and multiple enormous, max airflow fans, the case still had the usual unpainted grey interior and back panel.  Late in 2010, Cooler Master released the HAF 932 Black Edition, which introduced the greatest improvement to this legendary case; a full black paint treatment.  The case also came with a full-size side panel window, which received mixed reviews.  Some people loved it for being able to show off their rig’s interior, but others wanted the large side panel fan to directly blow air over their video cards.  The side panel fan in the Black Edition was replaced by a “GPU Duct” that could be fitted with a 120mm fan to blow directly onto the GPU’s.  In April of last year, Cooler Master combined the best of both worlds, plus a few extras, and brought us the HAF 932 Advanced, which combined the black interior and GPU Duct of the Black Edition and the side panel fan of the original HAF 932, plus the introduction of USB 3.0 with an internal header by way of a two port “breakout box” that utilizes a 5.25” bay and a 3.5” adapter, which also brings the total number of USB ports on the front of the 932, regardless of version, to six.

The HAF 932 Advanced includes the original loadout of fans, including a 230mm red LED fan in the front, a 230mm black intake fan in the side panel blowing directly over the CPU/GPU area of the motherboard, a black 140mm exhaust fan in the rear, and a black 230mm exhaust fan in the top.  All of these fans can be swapped out for different configurations/colors, but the most prominent fan configuration change comes in the top of the unit.  With the ability of the HAF 932 to accept a power supply in either the bottom OR the top (or both if you need redundant power,) if configured with the PSU in the bottom the HAF 932 has the ability to take a full size (60mm thick) 3x120mm radiator in the roof, with enough room for push/pull configured fans.

The case comes with 5 open 5.25” drive bays, all with Cooler Master’s push button tool free system for keeping your drives still.  Below the 5.25” bays are 5 3.5” tool free bays, 2 of which include trays that hold 2 2.5” drive each, for support of up to 4 2.5” drives (SSD’s or laptop drives.)

The front panel of the HAF 932 includes your standard fare of ports, with 4 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 Firewire, 1 eSATA, headphone, mic, and the power and reset buttons are on the top of the case to keep them out of the reach of little ones if it’s sitting on your desk.  Also on top is a small depressed area with a rubber mat good for keeping USB drives, cell phones, and other small items.  If you remove this mat there is a 1” diameter hole for routing a standard fill port for water cooling.

Internally, the HAF 932 is like most other full-tower cases, accepting any length power supply (it even has an extendable tray with rubber rails to cut down on vibration,) and it accepts Micro-ATX, ATX, and E-ATX motherboards.

The cable routing ability of the HAF 932 is adequate, although it could stand to have a little more room behind the motherboard tray.  The cable routing holes lack rubber grommets, but they all have a rolled edge, so there are no sharp edges to cut your power/data cables, or your hands.

All said and done, with the insane amount of airflow, cable routing, drive and motherboard support, and being so water cooling friendly, the Cooler Master HAF 932 is arguably the ULTIMATE full tower case, with very few small gripes about the fit and finish (the front panel USB 2.0 ports are mounted upside down compared to what most people are used to, and the power and HDD activity lights are extremely bright.)  This is why I am giving this case the minidigita.com Gold Award with hesitation.

The HAF 932 has been around for a long time now as far as computer cases are concerned, and with its popularity and continued success, I look for it to be around for a long time to come.

As an added bonus, Cooler Master has made available on their CM Store website the full window (no fan) side panel that came with the Black Edition for those that want the full window, and also if you want a large window to show off your rig and still want a side panel fan, the side panel for the HAF X is available as an aftermarket part from Cooler Master and fits perfectly on the HAF 932.
