Mojang’s indie hit game Minecraft is getting a console release this winter, on Xbox 360 with Kinect support, Microsoft has revealed at its E3 2011 press conference.

“I’m thrilled to announce that Minecraft is making its console debut this winter exclusively on Xbox 360 and Kinect,” said Phil Spencer of Microsoft Game Studios. And that’s about all we know for now.

The press conference is still ongoing so we’ll update with more information as it becomes available. What do you think about Minecraft moving onto the consoles? Will servers still work or will the game use xbox live?

    Maybe this will finally give me the chance to try it out, depending on how much the console version costs. My console is way better for gaming than my computer.

      lol, well I hope this does not take away from the original feel of Minecraft.
